The Neil Armstrong biopic starring Ryan Gosling has pulled together an impressive ensemble cast thanks to Chazelle’s street cred after directing two back-to-back Oscar-nominated movies.

The actor will play Joseph A. Walker, the seventh man in space, in the Neil Armstrong biopic from the Oscar-winning “La La Land” filmmaker, scheduled for Oct 12. 2018.
Bernthal is in negotiations to play Dave Scott, who walked on the moon in July 1971 as part of Apollo 15, making him one of only a dozen men to have set foot on its surface. He was also a member of NASA’s 1969 Apollo 9 mission.
The talented character actor is making a deal to play Gus Grissom, one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts.
The space drama will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Neil Armstrong and on the nation –of one of the most dangerous NASA missions in history.
Logline: Adapted from the book “First Man: A Life of Neil A. Armstrong” by James Hansen, the biopic follows the the life of Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon.
