Season 1, Episode 13 – In the series finale of Pure Genius, Angie tries to convince her mother to try nanobot technology from Bunker Hill to treat her cancer, but her mother resists. Meanwhile, Dr. Wallace is in deep trouble when Julianna finds out Bell used the unapproved treatment to try to cure Louis Keating’s GSS.

Season 1, Episode 12 – In this week’s Pure Genius, Dr. C is tasked with performing vocal cord surgery on a famous pop singer who happens to be one of Bell’s friends. Meanwhile, Dr. Wallace and Dr. Brockett struggle to keep a baby alive whose mother was addicted to heroin, and Angie’s mom is keeping a terrible secret from her.

While the debate continues over whether or not Deadpool will receive any Oscar love, The People’s Choice Awards is happy to show the actioner the love, as the film picked up wins for Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie Actor.

Season 1, Episode 11 – In this week’s episode of Pure Genius, Nina pushes Bell to defy the FDA by using an unapproved treatment to slow the progression of a patient’s terminal illness. Meanwhile, tension grows between Dr. Verlaine and Dr. Brockett as Bell and Dr. Brockett bond while working together to cure another patient’s rare skin disease.

Season 1, Episode 10 – In this week’s Pure Genius, Bell has trouble coming to terms with the fact that one of his childhood heroes is indirectly responsible for a streak of potentially fatal illnesses in Silicon Valley. Meanwhile, Dr. Brockett and Dr. Strauss attempt to reverse a psychosomatic disorder using virtual reality therapy in order to help a patient walk again.

Season 1, Episode 9 – In this week’s episode of Pure Genius, Bell struggles with a savior complex as a church brings a young man dying of AIDS to Bunker Hill to be healed. Dr. Wallace has his hands full as well, as he fights to save his daughter’s friend (or, perhaps, more than a friend) when she contracts a fatal flesh-eating disease.

Season 1, Episode 8 – On this week’s Pure Genius, the Bunker Hill team sets in motion an international kidney donation chain between eight different donors across the world. Though stakes should be high, the show follows its unfortunate pattern of undermining its own tension with lackluster writing for its as-of-yet thinly defined characters.

Season 1, Episode 7 – Despite its best efforts, Pure Genius‘s Christmas episode is more lukewarm than heartwarming, even as a leukemia patient helps Bell come to terms with his GSS diagnosis. Meanwhile, Dr. Verlaine and Dr. Brockett take a step forward in their relationship; unfortunately, this means the show takes a step back.

Season 1, Episode 6 – In this week’s Pure Genius, Bell tries to drum up publicity for Bunker Hill by having a remote surgery at the International Space Station streamed live across the world – what could go wrong?

Season 1, Episode 5 – In an attempted twist on an otherwise dull retread of Pure Genius‘s previous themes, Dr. Wallace finds himself leaning towards Bell’s idealistic philosophies in securing approval for a controversial surgery for a burn victim. Bell, in the meantime, has to deal with the emotional consequences of giving false hope to a paralyzed patient.

Season 1, Episode 4 – Pure Genius picks up some momentum this week when Bell’s emotional connection to a patient clouds his judgment and puts him at odds with the rest of the team. Emotions run high elsewhere as a man blinded during military service, and haunted by survivor’s guilt, is given the chance to regain his sight.

As we head into a season of indie films and critical darlings fighting for a few awards season nominations, the 2017 People’s Choice Awards has released their list of nominees, celebrating the big hits that gained pop culture notoriety over the past year.

Season 1, Episode 3 – Pure Genius tries to narrow its focus this week, but struggles to keep the tension taut as it takes on two patients – a diabetic in need of a life-saving surgery her overweight body cannot withstand, and a police officer who has lost his memory in a car accident.

Season 1, Episode 2 – Pure Genius improves slightly from its pilot by using the show’s premise to its benefit, revolving around a new and unusual surgery involving spider silk to save a patient’s life. But, unoriginal plot points and predictable set-ups for future drama still bog down a show that has yet to shine.

Season 1, Episode 1 – In the premiere of Pure Genius, tech billionaire James Bell recruits brilliant surgeon Dr. Walter Wallace for the task of creating the hospital of the future, taking on supposedly hopeless cases and trying to cure the incurable. Unfortunately, for all the promised flash and wonderment, the episode falls flat with cliched characters and attempted drama that feels unearned.

Now that all five networks have revealed their fall premieres we can start making our schedules and fighting with family and roommates about who will be relegated to the DVR!

CBS is set to launch its fall schedule this year with Thursday Night Football on September 15. A night of comedies are up next including Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James and Man With A Plan with Matt LeBlanc.
