Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Hyatt has found a home for his new film Captive State with Participant Media. The company won the worldwide rights in a bidding war. Wyatt will direct the film, based on a script he wrote with Erica Beeney.

Fox has boosted development to cover American Idol’s exit and fill nearly 40 hours or programming. So this year’s order of 11 pilots is up from last year’s 6. That said, Fox isn’t really looking to take risks. Let’s take a look at what’s in the works in our preview of Fox’s Drama Pilots.

Logline: Set in the world of ruthless Washington politics, story follows an ambitious politician on the path to major successes when he chooses to leave his work behind and become a better person. However, his reputation is destroyed and he has to go on the run when he’s wrongly accused of wife’s murder.
