THE CATCH
It looks like a Grey’s Anatomy alum T.R. Knight is set to return to Shondaland. The Emmy Award-winning actor has been tapped for a recurring role in the second season of The Catch.
Much like a parmigiana dish at Buca de Beppo, quantity does not always make up for lack of quality, and that was the problem with the finale of The Catch. The theme of this week’s episode is family: privilege’s own prison.
Alice holds fast to her ultimatum with Ben and Anderson Vaughn must help a young musician escape an unfair contract and predatory producer.
The Catch executes a classic poker heist, Alice and Val must solve a runaway-turned-kidnapping case, Agent Dao closes in on The Kensington Firm.
The AVI team takes on a new client, a female captain in the army, who is being harassed by her colleagues. Meanwhile, Alice makes a play on Ben that could put her in some very serious danger.
Alice learns the hard way that no secret stays secret when Anderson Vaughn investigate a political campaign tainted by years of extortion.
Bryce Dallas Howard is teaming up with RatPac Entertainment for the adaptation of The Swans Of Fifth Avenue. Plus, Jackie Earle Haley books The Tick, and Jodie Comer has won the title role of The White Princess on Starz.
This episode of The Catch redeemed itself somewhat for me over last week’s. Not only was the case interesting, but there were discernible themes (greed, betrayal, being caught between a rock and a hard place) that were threaded through each storyline clearly.
Anderson Vaughn takes on another case close to home, with potentially deadly consequences for Alice. Christopher, Margot and Reggie’s latest con gets them in over their heads — and leaves them with blood on their hands.
Alice must not let her personal turmoil affect her new case: a husband who was wrongfully imprisoned for murdering his wife. Meanwhile, Christopher, Reggie and Margot find their next mark.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 star Nia Vardalos has signed on for ABC’s new Shonda Rhimes series The Catch. She will recur, but details of her role in the cat-and-mouse drama are being kept under wraps.
What is most unique about The Catch is its look; it is stylized in an almost shellacked way, with silhouettes reminiscent of the 1940s, the tone and aesthetic of this show feels almost like Shondaland does Lichtenstein.
