Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon has tapped another star from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to join his upcoming film The Current War. Spider-man: Homecoming star Tom Holland is set to join Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Cumberbatch in the Weinstein Company drama about the battle between George Westinghouse and rival Thomas Edison to create a sustainable electricity system and market it to the U.S.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor Katheirne Waterston has joined Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon, and Nicholous Hoult for The Current War. She will play Marguerite Erskine, the wife of Shannon’s George Westinghouse.
The Weinstein Company drama The Current War is looking to add Nicholas Hoult to the fold as Nikola Tesla. Once signed on, Hoult will join Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon in the story based on the events of the “War of Currents” between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse.
