The film centers on Matt, a deeply religious college student who begins working on a class project with Ivy, a highly secular girl. Their cooperation on the project leads to a romantic relationship that turns turbulent when their opposing religious views get in the way of their feelings for each other. Lucas will play Matt’s pastor Archie, who advises him against dating Ivy.
All other roles in the film, which is being produced by Steve Allison and Jonah Hirsch, are currently open.
After a strong turn alongside Russell Crowe in 2001’s “A Beautiful Mind”, Lucas has starred in such films as “Sweet Home Alabama”, “The Lincoln Lawyer”, “J. Edgar” and most recently the Nicolas Cage-led action-thriller “Stolen”. His family pic “Space Warriors” is awaiting release with “Big Sur” and “Wish You Well” following after.
He is repped by WME.
