Sorry Jeff Bridges and Michael Douglas, it looks like Robert De Niro snatched the role in DIRTY GRANDPA right from under you. The story follows an uptight law student who takes his grandpa (De Niro) on a road trip to Florida, but when all the old man wants to do is have sex with coeds, his grandson is forced to loosen up, and realizes he’s not happy with his own life.
John Phillips wrote the script that Andy Tennant (“Hitch”) is in talks to direct. Barry Josephson will produce.
De Niro was last seen in “The Family” and “Last Vegas.” He’ll next appear in “Grudge Match” and “Hands of Stone.” Tennant last directed 2010’s “The Bounty Hunter.”
De Niro and Tennant are repped by CAA and Paradigm respectively.
