Congratulations to Top 10 Launch Pad writer Tristan Thai who has signed with Jon Kanak Management. Thai wrote this year’s top drama, BLOOD TIES, about a young cop who, while at his father’s deathbed, discovers he was switched at birth with another man – the son of the city’s biggest mob family. As both men discover where their true blood ties lie, they must decide which side of the law their loyalties will lie.
Thai started his writing career by penning “Demon Slayer” for legendary B-movie producer Roger Corman. From there, he has gone on to write for G4TV and AOL Studios, including episodes of the video game and comic book documentary series “Icons.” He was recently honored by CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) as a New Writers Fellow. Right now, he’s working on finishing up another spec, “Coyote,” as well as a new drama series called “The Fixer.”
Thai joins Jeff Storms as our second Launch Pad finalist to be signed by Jon Kanak Management. Storms made it in the top 25 with his drama “Buscone” about the underground world of sports-oriented human trafficking, with a focus on rising, young baseball stars.
