Terry Rossio Takes On The “Masters Of The Universe”

will pen the latest draft of the reboot. Who knows how it’ll all pan out but the original toyline/cartoon/comics centered on Prince Adam, who, after uttering the magic words “By the power of Grayskull, I have the power,” magically turned into the heroic He-Man, the hero who along with his allies – Battle Cat, Man-at-Arms and Orko – defended the planet Eternia, and their Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor.

Richard Wenk (“The Mechanic”) was the last writer before Rossio, while Mike Finch and Alex Litvak were the initial scribes. John Chu was previously attached to direct, but has since dropped out. Producing will be Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.

Rossio last co-wrote this summer’s “The Lone Ranger” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” before that. He’s also attached to write the sci-fi adventure project “Lightspeed.”
