Get ready for some serious block stacking action because there is a TETRIS movie franchise coming to theaters in the near future.
Based on the popular video game from the ’80s, the movie has been gestating for quite some time. Larry Kasanoff, known for producing a movie adaptation for the popular ’90s video game Mortal Kombat, has partnered with Chinese businessman Bruno Wu for the $80 million China-U.S. co-production.
The movie is set up at Threshold Global Studios, a new venture between Kasanoff’s Threshold Entertainment and Wu’s Seven Stars Entertainment. Tetris will be the first installment of what is being envisioned as a trilogy. The movie will be partly shot in China and have Chinese actors in starring roles.
