Robbie Amell, known for his roles in The Duff and on The CW’s The Flash, has been tapped for New Line Cinema’s THE BABYSITTER. Directed by McG, the film follows a young boy and his babysitter during a night where things go very awry, teaching the boy lessons about life, love and murder. Judah Lewis leads alongside of Samara Weaving in the titular role.
The script is from buzzy scribe Brian Duffield, who just sold another project to 20th Century Fox. The hot script made the 2014 Blacklist and was picked up by McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision before going into the studio. McG is producing via Wonderland, with production slated for later this Fall in LA.
Amell has been blowing up lately, notably playing Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm on CW’s hit superhero series The Flash. Previously appearing on series like Revenge and The Tomorrow People, Amell appeared in the 2015 films The Duff and Warner Bros.’ Max. Up next, he’ll star opposite Kevin Spacey in Barry Sonnenfeld’s comedy Nine Lives.
