The based-on-true-life drama centers on a young woman’s terrifying descent into madness as a result of an undiagnosed case of encephalitis. Garard Barrett (Glassland) is directing from his own adaptation of Susannah Cahalan’s memoir, Brain On Fire: My Month of Madness. Charlize Theron is producing the project with AJ Dix, Beth Kino, and Rob Merilees.
Poulter’s recent credits include The Maze Runner, We’re the Millers, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He is currently filming The Revenant, an adventure drama about the frontiersman, Hugh Glass, who in the 1820s set out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.
