“Iron Man” Rescues Jessica Chastain

is back in talks to star in Marvel’s .

The film’s storyline is being kept under wraps but it is looking like it will involve Warren Ellis’ “Iron Man: Extremis” comic book series. The film already had Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Scarlett Johansson reprising their roles, with Guy Pearce also coming on board last week as geneticist Aldrich Killian. Now Chastain is in talks to star as a beautiful scientist opposite Tony Stark and her character is described as being just as brilliant as the film’s protagonist.

It originally seemed that Chastain would not be able to fit “Iron Man 3” into her schedule because of her involvement with Kathryn Bigelow’s Osama Bin Laden film. But with that project being pushed back, Chastain is back in the mix as the frontrunner after the studio began considering Diane Kruger, Isla Fisher and Gemma Arterton among others for the role.

Chastain, who starred in 2011’s critically acclaimed film “The Help”, has been quite busy lately. On top of this project and Bigelow’s film, she’s also set to star in “The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby”, which is in development, as well as “Madagascar 3” and “Lawless”, both of which are awaiting release.

The film will be produced by Kevin Feige.
