Good Fear Content’s Jake Wagner joins us for the latest installment of Anatomy of a Sale. Jake walks us through one of his own concepts, which would plant the seeds for STUBER written by Tripper Clancy. The script, which landed on the Hit List, sold to Fox in a six-figure deal and stars Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani. Jake recounts the writer’s overall goal of writing a studio project, utilizing the holiday break to best maximize time, going wide to a modern-day market with a completely original idea, all the way to the release of a big summer blockbuster.
Jake Wagner is a literary Manager and producer from Good Fear Content. He remains one of the industry’s top managers, leading the charge for countless mega-sales including Paramount’s Crawl, Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, and Princesses set up with Sony, to name a few. Jake has signed more writers from the Launch Pad competition than any other manager in town and he has been essential to launching numerous writers’ careers, exemplifying what it means to be a manager.
