Bryan Cranston Set To Play Zordon In “Power Rangers”

recently took to Twitter to announce that he will be playing Zordon in the upcoming  movie.

“Excited to play #Zordon in the #PowerRangersMovie!” the Breaking Bad alum tweeted about playing the mentor to the Rangers. He then went on to challenge his followers to some lighthearted Power Rangers trivia. “T or F: #BlueRanger Billy Cranston was named after what actor?”

Cranston will star opposite Elizabeth Banks, who will step into the role of the Rangers’ arch nemesis Rita Repulsa. They are joined by RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott, and Dacre Montgomery, who will play the titular team of teenagers who gain superhero powers and pilot massive robots called Zords.

Dean Israelite will serve as director of the project based on the popular TV kid series from the ’90s. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, the writers of X-Men: First Class will pen the . Haim Saban and Brian Casentini of Saban Films will produce with Allison Shearmur.

Cranston was recently seen playing Lyndon B. Johnson in the HBO movie All the Way opposite Anthony Mackie. He also can be seen next in crime drama The Infiltrator with John Leguizamo and Diane Kruger as well as the comedy Why Him? starring James Franco.
