Jamie Foxx is set to bring to life Biggz, a streetwise mouse, in the animated feature GROOVE TAILS. Foxx is also producing the pic, which centers on Biggz who, after his cheese debts get away from him, becomes pulled into the world of competitive street dancing.
Michael Becker of Imprint Entertainment is producing with Foxx, along with Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi of AMBI. Cameron Hood is making his feature directorial debut on this one after serving in the animation departments on hits like How to Train Your Dragon, Despicable Me 2, and Kung Fu Panda 2. The film will be a computer-generated animation, created at AMBI’s AIC Studios in Toronto, and working off a script from Johnny Mack.
Fox, who’s currently filming the drama Sleepless Nights with T.I. and Dermot Mulroney, most recently starred in the Annie remake, which has grossed more than $130 million worldwide.
