The last couple months have been a whirlwind of casting and studio shifting news for the mystical island where King Kong lives. And now here’s some more.
John Goodman has signed on to play government official Randa in KONG: SKULL ISLAND. Randa is the man responsible for leading the expedition to the island in the script from John Gatins and Max Borenstein. Other official cast members include Tom Hiddleston in the lead role, Brie Larson, John C. Reilly and Samuel L. Jackson.
The film will act as a setup for the universe of King Kong and other monsters, hopefully meaning that Legendary plans to include the giant ape in future productions. The move to Warner Bros. could also mean a true Godzilla vs. King Kong film could be in the works.
Any way this shakes out, bringing Goodman on board as a morally nebulous character is never a bad thing.
