“La La Land” Starring Ryan Gosling And Emma Stone to Open Venice Film Festival



Damien Chazelle‘s LA LA LAND starring and is set to open the 73rd Venice Film Festival which runs from August 31 through September 10.

The film is a celebration of the Golden Age of American musicals and will be in competition at the festival. Set in Los Angeles, La La Land features Gosling starring as a jazz pianist and Stone as an aspiring actress. The two fall in love but their relationship begins to struggle as they become successful.

Chazelle wrote the film which will also star John Legend and J.K. Simmons, who earned an Oscar for his role in Chazelle’s other musically-oriented pic Whiplash.

Lionsgate produced the film alongside Black Label Media, Gilbert , Impostor Pictures, and Marc Platt Productions. The film will be in limited release on December 2 and will go wide on December 16.
