Eighties teen icon Molly Ringwald joins the cast of JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS. The live action adventure remake revolves around an orphaned teenage girl who becomes an online recording sensation. She and her friends embark on a music-driven scavenger hunt that sends them on an adventure across Los Angeles in an attempt to unlock a final message left by her father. Aubrey Peeples will star as Jem with Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko cast as her Holograms. Ryan Guzman will play the love interest Rio.
Ringwald is known for her iconic 80’s films and for being a member of the “Brat Pack” which also included Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy and Judd Nelson. She made a name for herself in teen dramas “Pretty in Pink,” “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles.” More recently, she starred in ABC Family’s drama “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” opposite rising star Shailene Woodley.
