Naomi Campbell Books Recurring Role on Lee Daniels Series “Star”

Lee Daniels has booked for a recurring role on the upcoming Fox series STAR. Campbell previously did a stint on Daniels’s hit Fox series Empire.

Star is set in Atlanta is revolves around three talented young singers ,played by Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, and Brittany O’Grady, who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. Like Empire, the series features original music in addition to musical fantasy sequences as each of the main trio dream of their future.

Campbell has been cast as Rose spencer, the wealthy, and cultivated mother of Destiny’s character, Alexandra. She joins previously cast Queen Latifa, Benjamin Bratt, Nicholas Gonzalez, Amiyah Scott, and guest star Lenny Kravitz.

Daniels, who directed the pilot, is the creator and executive along with Tom Donaghy. Other executive producers include Pamela Oas William and Effie Brown while Charles Pratt will serve as showrunner. The series hails from 20th Century Fox .

Campbell is best known for her work as a supermodel but has made several television and film appearances throughout her career including Girl 6, Fastlane, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She was also an executive and was featured on the The Face.
