Ben Affleck’s standalone Batman movie has cast Joe Manganiello to play the central villain Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson. The news was confirmed by DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns.

Ben Affleck took to Twitter to reveal a big piece of news about the forthcoming standalone Batman pic, which he is attached to direct and star. The Academy Award-winning director posted a mysterious video clip of a masked character clearly of the DC Entertainment movie world. Fanboys and fangirls immediately threw a fit of excitement when they recognized the masked man as the villain Deathstroke.
Plot details are kept hush, but the pic will serve as a pseudo-sequel to next year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and 2017‘s Justice League, focusing on Affleck’s interpretation of the caped crusader.
