Last year’s crop of CBS pilots were lackluster, and of those ordered to series, only Bull and MacGyver have been renewed so far. With Doubt already canceled, and Training Day and Pure Genius unlikely to be renewed, CBS has plenty of room on its fall schedule.

Ashley Judd is set to join Epix’s spy drama Berlin Station for season two and Oscar-nominated actor Carey Mulligan will headline the four-part miniseries Collateral for the BBC.
Book-to-television adaptations were busy making big casting announcements today, with Game of Thrones, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and The Alienist all adding to their line-ups.
TNT’s The Alienist has tapped Sean Astin to play Theodore Roosevelt, meanwhile How I Met Your Motheralum Josh Radnor is set to lead NBC’s Drama High cast.
