There were a few big surprise wins at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, but politics were on the minds of those attending, as most speeches highlighted the events around the country following an executive order out of the White House.

Ahead of their awards ceremony on Friday, January 27, the ACE Eddie Awards have announce this years nominations. Picks were chosen by members of the American Cinema Editors and continue the reigning favorites of awards season with La La Land, Moonlight, and Manchester by the Sea all landing noms.
Sophia Bush and Common revealed the nominations for the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Award and needless to say, they turned several heads. Current awards frontrunner La La Land failed to land a Best Ensemble nomination, while the television categories are dominated by newcomers Stranger Things, The Crown, and Westworld.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 68th Primtime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday in a swiftly-paced event that saw plenty of perennial favorites take home statues, including Game of Thrones and Veep, as well as some first-time wins for stars Kate McKinnon, Rami Malek, and Tatiana Maslany. The Television Critics Association held their 32nd awards show this weekend, where The People V. OJ Simpson continued their awards success. They entered the event tied with Mr. Robot for the most nominations.
