Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany is in talks to star in THE WOMAN IN GOLD. She joins Helen Mirren who plays Maria Altmann, a Jewish refugee who took on the Austrian government to reclaim paintings that were stolen from her by the Nazis during World War II. Maslany will play a young Mirren in the film, while Ryan Reynolds has been cast as Mirren’s attorney.
Maslany is known for her amazing performances in the BBC sci-fi thriller series “Orphan Black” where she plays not one but ten roles, all of them clones of one another. She also appeared in the horror flick “The Messengers” and Michael Sucsy’s “The Vow” with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. Her next big project (aside from more “Orphan Black”) is in the drama “The Paper Store” opposite Penn Badgley and Richard Kind.
