〉 Hobley is an alum of the 2013 Bloodlist and 2014 Young & Hungry List
It’s official: hot up-and-coming screenwriter Richard Hobley has signed with agents Chris Smith and Adrian Garcia at Paradigm. Hobley is managed by Jon Kanak of Kanak Management in addition to Anthony Mestriner at Casaratto Ramsey in the UK and by lawyer Larry Koepekin.
Sources close to The Tracking Board tell us that Hobley signed with Paradigm in an extremely competitive situation between three agencies. This is a savvy pick up for Smith and Garcia, as Hobley, one of the town’s most prolific young scribes, has been generating quite a bit of buzz over the past few years.
Hobley’s thriller script Limerence made the coveted Bloodlist in 2013, while he himself landed on the 2014 Young & Hungry List, after his scripts Limerence, Raven Court and Slumber each earned multiple votes from all over Hollywood.
After blazing onto the market last spring, Raven Court is currently in development at The Tea Shop & Film Company, with James Moran set to direct. Hobley was also the co-writer of thrillers Slumber and The Lighthouse–both of which are in active development–as well as the Barcelona-set horror Anathema, set up at Zentropa Spain. Just last month, Hobley’s elevated sci-fi thriller Titan sold to Riverstone Pictures, where it is being produced by Deepak Nayar and Nik Bower.
And Hobley’s talents extend beyond writing for the big screen: he sold his original horror pilot Haunted to Dimension earlier this summer.
Needless to say, Hobley has already proven his ability to create quality material time and time again–and he’s only getting started. With Smith and Garcia’s extensive connections and proven track record of shepherding young writers in their burgeoning careers, there’s no doubt that Hobley’s headed to the next level. We can’t wait to see what’s next from this one-of-a-kind talent.
