Tom Hiddleston is set to star in SKULL ISLAND, which Jordan Vogt-Roberts has boarded to direct. Universal’s action flick, penned by Max Borenstein, will follow the legendary King Kong during his time on the mysterious and dangerous Skull Island.
Hiddleston, of course, is known for his role as Loki in the “Avengers” and “Thor” franchises, but the Brit has also had more traditionally dramatic roles in the miniseries “The Hollow Crown” and indie drama “Only Lovers Left Alive.” Among his many upcoming projects, Hiddleston has signed on to star as Hank Williams in the biopic “I Saw the Light,” as well as Guillermo del Toro’s horror film “Crimson Peak” and the action sci-fi flick “High-Rise” with Jeremy Irons and Elisabeth Moss.
In the past, Vogt-Roberts has primarily directed comedy projects like “Kings of Summer,” which stars Gabriel Basso and Nick Offerman, as well as a few episodes of “Funny or Die Presents.” He also directed a number of episodes of the upcoming FX comedy “You’re the Worst.”
