DEATH WISH is bringing in Big Bad Wolves directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado to helm the Bruce Willis-starring remake. The original film starred Charles Bronson and was adapted from the Brian Garfield novel.
The film follows an architect whose life is destroyed by a violent crime against his wife and daughter. Frustrated that the perpetrators are not held to pay for the violence and degradation these thugs inflicted on his family, the architect takes to the streets and begins dispatching bad guys himself.
MGM and Paramount are teaming up for the actioner with Roger Birnbaum producing. The script was originally penned by Joe Carnahan, who was set to direct as well, but follow-up drafts were written by Dan Gilroy and Graham Yost.
Keshales and Papushado are best known for 2013’s Big Bad Wolves, which became a cult hit, and their feature debut Rabies.
They are repped by WME.
