Season 3, Episode 2 – “Paradox” continues the fallout of Barry’s actions this week on the The Flash. With the timeline altered once again, Barry must face Team Flash head as newfound problems arise from changing the past. Meanwhile, The Rival is out for revenge as Alchemy sets things in motion.
Season 1, Episode 3 – The Copeland’s find Grandpa’s house empty in the Aftermath, Karen gets her Call of Duty on, and Josh steps up when Dana is attacked by one rabid dog and three nasty men. Matt discovers a naked young woman hiding in the basement while Bri refuses to pay ass or cash for food and takes shelter in the relative safety of a religious compound.
Season 2, Episode 3 – As Scream Queens resumes, the killings keep coming, the random suspicions keep growing and more secrets are revealed. If you can keep up with the fast-paced, deliberately clichéd dialogue, the show is annoyingly compelling.
Season 1, Episode 2 – No Tomorrow continues to be adorable in “No Crying in Baseball.” Despite its oddball characters, the show proves it cares more about the heart as it dives further into our lovebirds’ lives.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Atlanta continues to get curiouser and curiouser, this time devoting an entire episode to a fake talk show, “Montague,” and subversive fake commercials that you’ll think are real for the first two rounds. Prepare yourself for an all-too-real kiddie cereal commercial.
Season 1, Episode 1 – In its series premiere, Channel Zero delivers an intriguing episode full of dread and uncertainty, as a child psychologist returns home to investigate a series of murders somehow connected to the strange children’s program “Candle Cove”.
Season 1, Episode 3 – This Is Us does away with all subtlety, which doesn’t bode well for its character driven stories.
Season 1, Episode 3 – After a week off, Bull returns with a predictable yet frustrating episode, as Dr. Bull proves the innocence of a girl imprisoned for murder after a podcast about the case goes viral.
Season 3, Episodes 9-10 – The two-hour, season three finale of Halt and Catch Fire jumps four years into the future as Gordon, Donna, Cameron, and Joe have all gone their separate ways. Can Donna get the band back together to do one final project that may change the course of history, or is there too much residual hurt and anger for any of them to work together again?
Season 4, Episode 3 – Agents of SHIELD plays to its strengths with a science-filled plot to foil a terrorist attack. Pulling both from its own past and the Marvel Universe at large, “Uprising” provides plenty of thrills along with its moments of character development.
Season 1, Episode 12 – In “Soliloquy of Chaos,” Luke Cage gives all of its plots plenty of room for exposition before resolving them all in anticipation of the season finale. Luke is on the run, Misty gains new insight in her investigation, and Diamondback makes a play for all of Harlem while the show takes its most political stand.
Season 4, Episode 4 – Brooklyn Nine-Nine jumps back into its regular format with a small twist in “The Night Shift.” The crossover event with New Girl leaves a little bit to be desired in this week’s jokes and story.
Season 5, Episode 2 – Mindy has found a new love interest already in handsome pediatric nurse Ben (Bryan Greenberg). Meanwhile, the nurses go on strike, causing chaos at the hospital, and Mindy takes a side job.
Season 3, Episode 4 – Nygma battles Butch and reshapes Penguin’s campaign for mayor ofGotham while Gordon works on breaking Tetch’s spell. Five tries to hide his identity form Selina as he cuddles up to her. Tetch commands a family of wrestlers to assault GCPD and recover his sister and use her blood to infect the city water supply.
Season 2, Episode 1 – Supergirl returns this season on a new network, with new changes. Kara teams up with Superman to investigate a possible new Kryptonian. Meanwhile, she also struggles to choose a new position at CatCo.
Season 1, Episode 6 – Mary + Jane has been showcasing a giant wall of weed and now we finally get to see what the story of it is. As per usual, it’s nowhere near as much fun as it looks.
Season 2, Episode 3 – Lucifer struggles with having Charlotte around and goes looking for a serial killer who punishes victims for their sins. Charlotte meets with Amenadiel, her other angry son, but he isn’t talking about his wing infection, while Chloe and Dan face the real issues of moving forward and protecting Trixie’s fragile childhood.
Season 1, Episode 11 – Luke Cage brings all of its plots to a head in “Now You’re Mine” with two episodes left to go in the series. In typical fashion, the show lets its hero have quiet moments of heroism while providing a platform for all of the characters to test their mettle.
Season 1, Episode 2 – The second episode of new legal drama Conviction has many of the same problems as its first. The show still can’t seem to decide what kind of character it wants its leading lady to be, and much of the episode’s case-of-the-week plot felt predictable. However despite its flaws, there’s still something appealing at the heart of Conviction, and star Hayley Atwell continues to shine.
Season 4, Episode 5 – This week, Masters of Sex decided to prioritize dramatic storytelling over practicality. In many ways, television shows do this a lot and often it is the better choice to make. While plenty of the courtroom drama didn’t exactly make sense, there continued to be good character work this week that elevated the episode.
Season 3, Episode 7 – The Strain has once again slowed down on the action as everyone regroups to collect information but what the collaborators lacks in fight scenes it makes up for with brief moments of gross-out bliss combined with important revelations.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Van Helsing sneaks out to track down her daughter and Mohamad goes with her to look for his sister, Sheema. Sheema is the recon expert with a human resistance group composed of slave labor and live-stock used by the vamps for blood and to create air pollution in the sky where their protective ash dissipates. Axel deals with a murder at the hospital.
Season 2, Episode 2 – In this week’s Ash Vs Evil Dead, Ash and the gang (including Book of the Dead scribe Ruby) battle wacky possessed intestines and reanimated neighborhood floozies, all in the name of saving the human race from certain Deadite doom.
Season 1, Part 2 – The Ranch, Netflix’s multi-cam sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, returned for the second half of its first season on Friday, and although the show tried to tackle more serious subplots, the problems in the first half still persist.
Season 2, Episode 2 – Walter learns more about Cornelia and the dangerous mission she’s on in L.A, while also dealing with the appearance of an annoying new house guest. Elsewhere, a scared Jim prepares for the live taping of his colonoscopy, leading him to lean on Celia in a way she thinks she might not be ready for yet.
Season 1, Episode 1 – HBO’s Divorce is a dark comedy. I imagine that those who are married or are currently going through a divorce can relate to this. I am neither, but I find it hilarious. That’s because the writing is so good and the actors are as well.
Season 1, Episode 10 – Luke Cage delves into his past and discovers some things he rather would have kept buried. Meanwhile, Mariah makes a political play for Harlem that will benefit her and her partners.
Season 1, Episode 9 – Luke Cage mixes science, politics, and psychiatry in its best episode so far, furthering the series’ story while firmly situating itself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large at the same time.
Season 1, Episode 4 – The Guy takes out the trash and the “tick”. A day raver and recyclable collector couple deal with new technology and connecting with their millennial kids.
