Season 1, Episodes 1-8 – Amazon’s I Love Dick investigates the sex and sexism of art, desire and Kevin Bacon. Though it can feel pretentious at times, the show’s poignancy shines through, as does Kathryn Hahn’s career making performance.
I LOVE DICK
The title of Transparent creator Jill Soloway upcoming Amazon series I Love Dick may have you thinking dirty things, but the show is based on a cult novel by Chris Kraus about a woman who becomes obsessed with a guy named Dick. The new trailer shows that this is not your typical comedy, making it an ambitious project for Soloway to tackle.
Amazon Studios has ordered three new pilots, which first premiered in August as a trial run, to series: I Love Dick, Jean-Claude Van Johnson, and The Tick.
Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson will star in the series, which will be directed and co-written by Mel Gibson. Kevin Bacon, meanwhile, joins Jill Soloway’s new series, while Walter Goggins replaces Joe Manganiello over at History.
Demi Moore has signed on to lead the series 10 Days In The Valley from Skydance Television while Powerless has added Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, and Christine Kirk. The trio joins previously cast Vanessa Hudgens.
