critics-choice-excerptThe nominees for the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards were announced today, and with no surprise, HBO took the top spot raking in 22 nominations while ABC and Netflix tied for second with 14 nods. With critically acclaimed shows like The Americans, the new Donald Glover comedy Atlanta, and the uber-successful The People Vs. OJ Simpson FX ranked fourth.

Logline: Set in Miami in 1962, centers on the most powerful Miami Beach hotel owner who fights to save his family and survive the seedy underground of Magic City.

Logline: A Las Vegas detective must race against time to save a bus full of hostages after a seemingly failed bank robbery that has been masterminded by a man sitting in the detective’s own station, bent on vengeance.

Logline: Two illegal immigrants crossing the border into the U.S. must run for their lives when a drunk American man finds them and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Logline: A man campaigns to become “Supreme Ruler” of his local Buffalo lodge. He soon finds himself challenged by an elder lodge member and travels to the Order’s annual convention where he befriends a more established “Supreme Ruler.”

Logline: Kept under wraps, but based on the 1980s video game in which cities are destroyed by a giant lizard, werewolf and gorilla.

CBS adds players to two cop dramas, and a laugher, Fox sees a “Wire” regular return to Fringe, Lifetime finds a lead for Carrie-Anne Moss, while Showtime finds one to star opposite Don Cheadle, Starz finds one to star alone, and TV Land finds a few familiar faces to star in recently greenlit pilots!

Logline: Story centers on a father-daughter relationship built on the desire to teach and learn how to hunt… something that is immediately put to the test as the daughter must learn the tricks of hunting and archery after her father goes missing.
