Netflix’s multi-camera sitcom is hoping to fill the space left by Danny Masterson’s departure in December with the addition of Parenthood alum Dax Shepard in a recurring role. The role will be in second position after the Liz Meriwether pilot Bless This Mess.

Season 1, Part 2 – The Ranch, Netflix’s multi-cam sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, returned for the second half of its first season on Friday, and although the show tried to tackle more serious subplots, the problems in the first half still persist.

Is The Ranch, objectively speaking, a good show? No. But is there an audience for it? Maybe.

Another day gearing up for pilot season, another onslaught of casting news. Luke Perry, Elisabeth Shue, and Dermot Mulroney have all landed new roles in new series.
