CBS has given a pilot green light to SUPER FUN NIGHT, a multi-camera comedy pilot written by and starring Australian actress-comedian Rebel Wilson. Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger are executive producing, with Wilson co-executive producing.
CBS has picked up three more drama pilots:
- UNTITLED RALPH LAMB PERIOD PROJECT from “Goodfellas” writer Nicholas Pileggi and CBS TV Studios, is set in the 1960s and is based on the true story of Ralph Lamb, rodeo cowboy turned longtime Sheriff of Las Vegas. Pileggi co-wrote the script with TV writer Greg Walker, with James Mangold on board to direct.
- APPLEBAUM, a mew PI series that will be directed by Christopher Columbus.
- QUEAN, the Ilene Chaiken/Joel Silver procedural.
COMEDY CENTRAL has given a pilot order to ALMOST VACANT, created by and starring Canadian actors Nicolas Wright and James A. Woods. The project follows the misadventures of two inept friends, Jim (Woods) and Nic (Wright), as they work at a low-end budget hotel in upper New York.
FOX has given a pilot order to PRODIGY BULLY, a half-hour comedy written by “Glee” co-star Mike O’Malley and executive produced by John Wells. NBC has decided to move forward with an UNTITLED RAINN WILSON SPINOFF for a potential midseason 2013 launch. No deals have yet been made, but the series comes from the minds of Wilson and “The Office” showrunner/executive producer Paul Lieberstein.
