Season 1, Episode 13 – The most surprising thing about the series finale of Training Day is how sad you’ll be to see it go. A fun, fitting conclusion with many cameos. R.I.P. Bill Paxton.
Season 1, Episode 12 – Things could not be left on a bigger cliffhanger at the end of this week’s Training Day episode, setting the stage for a climactic finale.
Season 1, Episode 11 – If a bit more far-fetched than usual, this episode of Training Day was still a solid and emotional episode that set things up for the two episode finale very well.
Season 1, Episode 10 – This episode of Training Day was a bit all over the place with the main mystery, but contained the most focused plotlines about Frank and Kyle’s relationship yet, making it a mixed bag.
Season 1, Episode 9 – Justin Cornwell’s Detective Kyle Craig finally takes the lead on this episode of Training Day having played second fiddle to Bill Paxton’s Frank Rourke for the entirety of the series. It’s a good thing.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Bill Paxton fans can’t miss this episode of Training Day as Paxton’s Frank Rourke recalls his childhood and father in an emotional arc, with guest appearances from Sam Trammel and Paxton’s own son James.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Training Day returns with an enjoyable if less action packed episode than usual. If you want to savor ever second of Bill Paxton’s final work, you should catch his performance here.
Season 1, Episode 6 – Tommy is put in the spotlight this week on Training Day as a childhood friend is taken into custody, with a gang and a corrupt government agency gunning for him alike. Bill Paxton shines on.
Season 1, Episode 5 – Training Day dedicates this episode to the late great Bill Paxton, and it’s a fittingly fun, fast-paced hour that lets Paxton’s Rourke truly shine.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Training Day is basically The Bill Paxton Show, but this episode has him at the top of his game, carrying the show and providing a solid hour of popcorny TV, complete with some witty one-liners.
Season 1, Episode 3 – This week’s Training Day was surprisingly solid, with a lot of moving pieces and twists, but left room for some much needed character moments.
Season 1, Episode 2 – Episode two of Training Day is a step in the right direction, but hasn’t eliminated its cliche cop show problem, and all but ignores one of the two principal characters.
