Season 1, Episode 8 – Son of Zorn returns this week to rage when Zorn’s old buddy Headbutt Man comes to town. The show’s over-the-top take on this old sitcom trope reveals why the series might be smarter than I give it credit for.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency does the whole, you know, time-travel thing in “Weaponized Soul.” Though the episode answers the big questions left open about the case, there is still a confusing tangled web on unanswered questions left to be solved.
Season 2, Episode 6 – This week on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Rebecca puts all of her obsessive relationship energies into making the perfect friend group out of all of her dissimilar friends. Maya and Darryl have to work together towards a common goal, and Rebecca’s weird fake ex provides all the awkward romantic intention you could want.
Season 2, Episode 7 – You know when parents have to sit through their kid’s school play for an hour, when all they really care about is the five minutes that their kid is on stage? That was me this entire crossover event.
Season 1, Episode 6 – In this week’s Pure Genius, Bell tries to drum up publicity for Bunker Hill by having a remote surgery at the International Space Station streamed live across the world – what could go wrong?
Season 1, Episode 9 – Pitch rectifies a few of its earlier melodramatic mistakes with “Scratch,” but still fails to live up to its feminist potential. Dealing with trade clauses, romantic possibilities, and miscommunication, the episode recaptures a sliver of its original “uplifting sports story” style.
Season 1, Episode 4 – “Fall” is the end of Gilmore Girls, and it’s the best Season of the four. Emily welcomes the changes in her life and is incredible in every way. Lorelai finally gets her happy ending. And Rory says those final four words. I laughed. I cringed. I cried. But overall, I am grateful we got a proper goodbye.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Lethal Weapon explores Riggs’ fathering skills when he protects a young witness to a casino heist after the boy’s mother is shot by a ruthless thief. Murtaugh isn’t up to a mountain climbing adventure he promised Trish, but he does scratch his motorcycle itch when the case leads him to a custom bike shop.
Syfy’s hotly anticipated Incorporated from executive producers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon arrives with a whimper. The series premiere takes timely themes in a clichéd route with boring characters.
Season 1, Episode 8 – On the eve of an election that will decide a new House of Representatives, the threat of bioterrorism could put the whole operation in jeopardy. Meanwhile, the bombing investigation leads to some surprising twists that will have ramifications moving forward.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Love triangles and tracking serial killers takes over on Frequency leading to an uneven episode.
Season 2, Episode 9 – In the show’s penultimate episode of the season, Buddy’s life gets even more complicated when a FBI agent buys his lie that he’s undercover and a secret about Alexa’s past is revealed.
Season 5, Episode 8 – It’s day three of CW’s DC crossover. On Arrow, Oliver wakes up in an alternate reality concocted by The Dominators. Oliver has everything he ever wanted, but must fight his way through the dream to get back to reality. Meanwhile, Felicity and Team Arrow struggle to hold down the fort in Star City.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Ray just wants to get away, but the family can’t seem to get him to the boat on time, in this week’s terrific episode of Speechless. Meanwhile, J.J. tries to reel in a catch, and Dylan and Jimmy scheme to make poor parents pay big bucks for holiday gifts.
Season 3, Episode 9 – Younger changes focus away from Liza’s tangled love square to showcase Liza’s work colleagues and their misadventures in romance, even as Liza makes a possible misstep herself.
Season 3, Episode 8 – Black-ish switches things up this week, with an episode from Bow’s perspective instead of Dre’s, as she deals with identity issues after Junior brings home a white girlfriend.
Season 4, Episode 8 – The Goldbergs takes a bite out of high school theater with “The Greatest Musical Ever Written.” With two storylines that put the show’s most caricature characters in (or completely out of) their natural environment, the show manages to milk an unusual amount of humor out of its cast.
Season 3, Episode 7 – Empire delivers one of its campiest episodes yet. After rekindling their relationship, Cookie has to impress Angelo’s mother and throw a big dinner with family. But the Lyons boys are a mess. Andre is swooned by Nessa, Jamal is struggling with his drug addiction and Hakeem is… Hakeem.
Season 1, Episode 8 – The show’s many flaws are on full display this week, as we’re subjected to yet another episode full of laughable dialogue, unnecessary scenes, and Hugh Laurie staring wildly into the distance.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Katie (Katy Mixon) and Greg (Diedrich Bader) are no POTUS and FLOTUS, but they hold their own in Tuesday’s episode of American Housewife aptly titled “Power Couple.”
Season 1, Episode 3 – Shooter continues to deliver on the conspiracy story. Isaac begins to feel pressure from all sides when Bob Lee escapes his grasp and Julie doesn’t respond to his intimidation. Memphis keeps an open mind but needs more evidence to support Bob Lee’s theory and Bob Lee reaches out to Alex’s contact but can’t afford her help.
Season 1, Episode 8 – No Tomorrow stands up agains the man in “No Rest for the Weary.” With the season nearing it’s early end in January, the show is speeding towards arc developments and wrapping up loose ends.
Season 1, Episode 10 – The Aftermath launches asteroids at the moon while the Copelands make another supply stop. Matt babysits his sick father while the women search a hospital and discover an overworked nurse. She says she has the tetracycline they’re looking for but needs some help wheeling her patients to the lower floors.
Season 3, Episode 6 – In this week’s Fresh Off the Boat, Evan and Jessica find God in different places bringing a clash to their Sundays together. Meanwhile, a teeth cleaning has disastrous results for Louis.
Season 3, Episode 8 – It’s night two of the big Arrowverse crossover on The Flash which sees Barry assemble the heroes together to take on an alien race known as The Dominators, while still dealing with the animosity with Cisco.
Season 4, Episode 8 – Brooklyn Nine-Nine outs Terry as a total book nerd in “Skyfire Cycle.” Though veering from its usual voice and joke style, the episode manages to keep the heart of the show’s humor alive.
Season 1, Episode 3 – Summer is full of surprises. Emily begins seeing someone new. Rory breaks up with Logan and finds a new passion. Jess! Lorelai is forced to confront the problems in her life. And there’s a long musical interlude. Not the strongest season, but have I mentioned Jess?
Season 1, Episode 9 – A father son relationship anchors and otherwise chaotic episode of This Is Us.
