Capsule follows a lonely astronaut who is marooned on his ship billions of miles from Earth. On the verge of starvation, he reprograms the computer AI system to digitally look and sound like a beautiful woman who soon becomes his only companion — until a rescue team shows up with questionable intentions.

The film is set during the recording of the 1984 song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” as songwriter Bob Geldof discovers a dead body and must find out who killed the star without derailing the song.

Brad Peyton (San Andreas) is nearing a deal to direct the film, which follows a rookie female marine who gets stranded on a hostile planet during humanity’s space colonization with nothing but an Exo-suit that’s running out of fusion power.

Written by Henry Chaisson and Nick Antosca, the story follows a fourth-grade teacher who tries to help a troubled boy in her class, only to discover that he’s been hiding a nightmarish secret. Now something terrifying is coming for the boy, and she has to protect him.

You don’t leave a studio in the lurch like this, let alone a movie and its entire crew. This isn’t a good look for Bryan Singer, nor does it bode well for Rami Malek’s Freddie Mercury film. Oh, mama mia, indeed.

The live-action hybrid follows a silverback gorilla named Ivan who lives in a cage in a shopping mall along with an elephant named Stella (Jolie) and a stray dog named Bob. Ivan doesn’t remember life outside the mall, but when a baby elephant named Ruby (Prince) enters Ivan’s life and he finds himself taking care of her, he hatches a plan to rescue the baby elephant from its abusive owner.

Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell (Kidman) who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Chbosky will reimagine the project and develop it with an eye to direct. Prince Charming reunites Chbosky with his Wonder producers Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who are producing with Tripp Vinson.

Two-time Tony Award nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, who wrote the book, music and lyrics, will write the screenplay for the film. The play was nominated for seven Tony Awards, winning for Best Direction of a Musical.

Gal Gadot has closed a deal to reprise her signature superhero role, and Patty Jenkins will be calling the shots once again as the sequel’s director.
