The Australian actor will play one of the main antagonists of the film, which is based on the true story of
the world’s first conscientious objector, Desmond T. Ross. Ross was an army medic during the war, and opposed forced military service. During the Battle of Okinawa, Ross saved the lives of dozens of his fellow troops and went on to win the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroism.
Brian Oliver is producing the film, and Steve Longi will co-produce with Terry Benedict (who directed and produced a documentary on Desmond Ross). Oliver’s Cross Creek Pictures is the project’s principal financier.
