Season 1, Episode 3 – Quarry gets a bit more interesting in Friday night’s episode. Quarry finally wakes up from heartbreak, but it takes the kidnapping of his wife to do so.
Season 1 – Netflix’s Easy provides laughter in insight in several vignettes about love and sex in today’s world.
Season 1, Episode 1 – The Exorcist does a wonderful job in its pilot episode of differentiating itself from the 1973 William Friedkin film. It’s not a continuation of the characters in the franchise, but plays in the same universe the films events took place in and it may be one of the grittiest shows Fox has ever attempted.
Season 2, Episode 2 – Superstore officially returns for its second season with a solid episode that resets the status quo while promising hilarious chaos throughout the season.
Season 1, Episode 3 – This week in The Good Place, we slowly find out more about this new world and Eleanor’s place in it. She is taking at least one baby step toward actually being a better person, but still has a long way to go, and there is a twist toward the end that could lead to all sorts of fun.
Season 1, Episode 3 – Last night’s episode of Better Things features Lenny Kravitz as Mel Trueblood. The first time an actor of color appears on this show, and of course, there’s an awkward black joke.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Imagining the struggles of the first female pitcher in Major League Baseball, the “Pilot” episode of Pitch tackles sports, gender, and business with ease. This single episode has all the elements of a good sports story while promising a longer narrative to come.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Lethal Weapon fires up a great pilot built on smart storytelling, perfect casting, and beautiful direction. The pilot is fantastic example of moving a property from the big screen to the home screen.
Season 1, Episode 1 – In the Designated Survivor series premiere, we meet an ordinary cabinet member of congress, who through extraordinary circumstances becomes the leader of the free world.
Season 3, Episode 4 – This week’s You’re the Worst felt like a filler episode, as Gretchen attempts to force Jimmy to deal with his grief by embarking on a sadness tour, while Lindsay and Paul take a parenting class.
Season 3, Episode 1 – Black-ish returns for its third season with a half-hour long commercial for Disney World, as the Johnson family visits the theme park, conveniently forgetting about Dre’s financial problems that were at the center of last season’s finale.
Mr. Robot reveals what phase two of Elliot and The Dark Army’s plans are, and even though Elliot is the one who came up with idea for it, he may be unable to stop what he already started.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Meet the DiMeos, a family fiercely protecting itself and oldest child J.J., in the groundbreaking Speechless. The pilot unpacks a lot of plot, but there’s a lot to like.
Season 3, Episode 1 – Empire knows exactly what it is. It’s a crazy show about crazy people that do crazy things. They’re hyper-aware of this fact and do a good job of grounding everything in real emotion. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.
Season 6, Episode 2 – As more and more subplots are crammed into American Horror Story: Roanoke, it’s promising premiere is squandered as the show bites off far more than it can chew.
Season 2, Episode 1 – The Scream Queens are back for a second round: pinker, louder, and more obnoxious than ever.
Season 4, Episode 1 – Chaotic man-child Jake Peralta and robotic straight-man Captain Holt find themselves stuck in the worst place imaginable: sweaty Florida. A stray from the usual narrative ensemble cast, this season’s opener does not disappoint in humor or story development.

Cameron and Donna receive a buyout offer for Mutiny, Gordon’s neurological disorder seems to be getting worse, and Joe has the rug pulled out from under him on tonight’s Halt and Catch Fire.
Season 2, Episode 1 – Lucifer is running scared in the season two premiere when his mother drops in unannounced.
Season 3, Episode 1 – Gotham brings most of its characters back for Mad City and introduces a few more. Now that we know where all the characters stand, it’s looking like it will be an exciting third season. Let the conflict begin!
Season 1, Episode 3 – Mary + Jane still isn’t getting creative with the pot plotlines and talking vaginas doesn’t add much of interest either.
Season 1, Episodes 1-2 – The Good Place, the newest sitcom from Parks and Recreation creator Michael Schur, lives up to his name. There is a barely a moment in the first two episodes that doesn’t bring out a smile or a chuckle.
The storyline from Power’s episode last night feels recycled and campy. However, with a different perspective, I can possibly buy the new twist.
