The young phenom is overwhelmed by the transition and struggles with being away from his family, while the scout deals with his own family problems.

Jonathan Stewart and Eyal Podell wrote the script, and Carla Hacken (Hell or High Water) will produce the film via her Paper Pictures banner.

Iain Reid’s bestselling novel follows a young woman who is thinking of ending things with her boyfriend while on a road trip to meet his parents on their secluded farm. When her boyfriend makes an unexpected detour, leaving her stranded, a twisted mix of palpable tension, psychological frailty, and sheer terror ensues.

The four-part miniseries will follow the 18th century Russian monarch at the end of her reign, and explore her affair with Grigory Potemkin.

Julius Onah directed Bad Robot’s sci-fi movie, which boasts a strong international cast including David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Daniel Bruhl, Elizabeth Debicki and Zhang Ziyi.

Reinaldo Marcus Green’s directorial debut is a triptych following three stories — a family man captures an unlawful police shooting on video; a police officer with conflicting feelings about what that video shows; and a high school athlete who, in the aftermath of the shooting, is inspired to stand up for what he believes in.

I also caught Nicolas Pesce’s Piercing, and while it isn’t nearly as bold or as daring as his debut The Eyes of My Mother, it’s a fun two-hander starring Christopher Abbott and Mia Wasikowska that plays like a bloodier version of Phantom Thread.
