Russell Crowe is in talks to join Tom Cruise in Universal’s reboot of The Mummy, the first installment of what is expected to be a new monster movie franchise.

Courtney B. Vance is set to get wrapped up in Universal Pictures’s reboot of The Mummy. Vance will join Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, and Jake Johnson for the epic action adventure.

Jake Johnson is set to star in the untitled reboot of The Mummy. The movie is setting up Universal’s plan to build a interconnected franchise of classic monster movies.

Tom Cruise is in negotiations to star in Universal’s The Mummy reboot. Cruise’s involvement would help to launch the studio’s planned series of monster movie revivals–but would also serve to set the tone for the franchise moving forward.
