THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS
The A-list cast for Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms continues to grow as Miranda Hart becomes the latest to join the project based on the 1816 story by E.T.A. Hoffman.
Academy Award-winning actor Helen Mirren is in talks to join Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms as a character named Mother Ginger. The live-action adaptation also stars Mackenzie Foy, Morgan Freeman, Keira Knightley, and ballerina Misty Copland.
Disney’s retelling of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms has found their Sugar Plum Fairy in Oscar-nominated actor Keira Knightley. She joins the growing cast which includes Mackenzie Foy, who stars as Clara, as well as lead ballerina Misty Copland. Morgan Freeman has also signed on to the live-action adaptation.
Shortly after Interstellar’s Mackenzie Foy signed on to star in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Morgan Freeman has entered into negotiations to join the magical holiday picture. He would join Foy as heroine Clara and Misty Copeland as the lead ballerina.
Misty Copeland has joined Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, based on the 1816 E.T.A. Hoffmann story about a young girl who’s whisked away to a fantasy world at midnight on Christmas Eve, full of nutcracker princes and an army of mice.
Logline kept under wraps, but will be based on the E.T.A. Hoffmann book.
