French filmmaker Benjamin Rocher is looking to have Mel Gibson star in his upcoming action-adventure pic Every Other Weekend. The Academy Award-winning director is in talks to star in the film which is expected to star filming in France later this year.

Mel Gibson will star in The Professor and the Madman with Sean Penn in early negotiations to join him. Apocalypto writer Farhad Safinia is set to direct from his own screenplay, which he has adapted from Simon Winchester’s 1998 book.
Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson will star in the series, which will be directed and co-written by Mel Gibson. Kevin Bacon, meanwhile, joins Jill Soloway’s new series, while Walter Goggins replaces Joe Manganiello over at History.

Open Road Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Garry Marshall’s Mother’s Day. The romantic comedy stars Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Kate Hudson as mothers and follows their lives leading up to the titular holiday. Jason Sudeikis is also set to star.
