Season 2, Episode 1 – Julia has betrayed her friends and teamed up with Martin Chatwin on The Magicians. Quentin and the others must find a special location in Fillory to crown themselves kings, while Penny finds a healing river to reattach his hands. This isn’t the Fillory in the books Quentin grew up loving. It’s a dangerous place, and entering it has consequences.
Season 1, Episode 2 – Six shows a marked improvement in its second episode, exploring characters in downtime while giving enough action and suspense to keep the whole family happy.
Season 1, Episode 5 – Star delivers ones of its worst episodes yet, that also manages to sum it the entire season to this point. There is a complete lack of reality between the real world and the world of Star and it’s causing some serious problems. When Simone finds a VHS tape of their mother singing, Miss Carlotta flips out for no apparent reason. Meanwhile Alex thinks they should use the song and play it off as one of their own, while Star is against this idea, but for the wrong reasons.
Season 2, Episode 1-2 – The Path returns for its second season with a two-part premiere. Eddie has left the movement and Sarah is now in charge, but how long will she be able to keep Cal’s secrets for him?
Season 2, Episode 1 – Season 2 of WGN America’s hit drama Outsiders premiered last night and took us right back to where we left at the scene of the storm: The Farrells united, fierce and knowing; the policemen pointing their guns and trying to see through the sheeting rain. Outsiders is back, and it’s a bloodbath.
Season 1, Episode 12 – After a young woman sets off a bomb in his offices, Bull agrees to investigate the case of her husband, a pharmacist in jail for the murder of a drug lord, with the only piece of evidence eyewitness testimony from Danny, undercover for the FBI at the time.
Season 1, Episode 13 – This Is Us provides some sweet moments, but once again drowns in predictability and sap. It’s gotten to the point in the show where they seemed to have maybe run out of ideas. I say maybe because these storylines could be what the creators think are good ideas, but they feel like someone’s idea for a spec of the show.
Season 1, Episode 6 – The Mick is starting to really pick up speed and find it’s groove in physical comedy as the new family unit moves beyond telling their tale of woe and accepts their new circumstances.
Season 1, Episode 3 – James Delaney weaves a complicated plan to keep himself safe while he recuperates from an assassination attempt on Taboo. He also tries to rekindle his relationship with Zilpha, but with mixed results, and Lorna gets herself into serious trouble that could have terrible consequences for James’s plan.
Season 2, Episode 9 – Legends of Tomorrow returns this week with a bang, ya’ll. The race to find Rip Hunter is on, and in a surprise twist our team is tasked with their most important mission of all time! I’ll give you a hint, it involves George Lucas.
Season 3, Episode 10 – The Flash is back and stronger than ever as Barry and Wally, now Kid Flash, face off against The Plunder. As Team Flash grows bigger, everyone must band together to fight the future for a better tomorrow for all of them.
Season 4, Episode 11 – SHIELD continues to knock it out of the park in every respect with a beautiful mix of robots, politics, superpowers, and character-driven stories. In this week’s episode, Agent May and her copy both fight against their respective constraints, SHIELD’s three leaders clash over policy decisions, and science might not actually save us this time.
Season 2, Episode 12 –Lucifer and Chloe track a killer who is poisoning local college students and terrorizing others. Charlotte convinces Maze it’s time to tell Lucifer the truth about Chloe while Lucifer realizes his feelings are real and they can move forward with a loving relationship. Lucifer is crushed by the revelation and finds Chloe’s life in danger again.
Season 3, Episode 13 –Selina learns the truth behind Maria’s return to Gotham while Lee continues to cause heartache for Gordon at GCPD. Penguin loses his popularity as mayor after his on-air meltdown as Barbara, Tabitha, and Nygma subvert his control over the criminal underworld. Dwight leads Jerome’s cult in chaos across the city.
Season 2, Episode 9 – In this week’s Supergirl, Kara investigates the disappearance of a young girl, eventually getting whisked away to a hostile planet where she and Mon-El are stripped of their powers. Meanwhile, Alex, in the honeymoon stage of her relationship, blames herself for Kara’s capture.
Season 3, Episode 8 – Jane the Virgin is back! And she’s still poking her nose into other people’s business. I have to say, she kinda needs to. Her circle is kinda dim. Sweet, but dim.
Season 1, Episode 12 – Flynn travels back to get the help of Jesse James in order to track down someone important on Timeless. Wyatt confronts his wife’s killer, Lucy forgets her sister’s birthday, and Rufus must deal with Mason using his girlfriend against him. How much longer can they all keep working for Rittenhouse before they switch sides and work with Flynn to stop them?
Season 2, Episode 9 – Quantico returns from its mid-season hiatus with the Farm trainees’ sexiest lesson yet, and some egregiously ignorant law enforcing! But despite it all, the promise of twists may keep you watching.
Season 1, Episode 5 – At it’s mid-season mark, Beyond continues with a strong showing, providing more looks at the mysterious “Realm” than ever before, and intro’ing a new intriguing character to the world.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Voiello concocts a plan to put Lenny in his place on The Young Pope, but will it work? The Kurtwell incident finally gets Lenny’s attention, and the Cardinals continue to wait for the new Pope to address them so they may leave Vatican City. Lenny has big plans to purge the church of sin, but will anyone be left when he’s finished?
Season 1, Episodes 1-3 – Netflix’s Frontier premieres with a trilogy of dense, exciting episodes, detailing the twists and turns of the treacherous fur trade in the mid-18th century.
Season 1, Episode 3 – In the aftermath of Lenny’s first public address as The Young Pope, the church scrambles to undo the damage and confusion his performance has had on both the members of the Catholic Church and the media. Will Lenny double down on his harsh words and actions or does he soften and take the advice of his mentor and others?
Season 1, Episode 2 – VictoriaVictoria’s personal life is always of interest and we are finally closer to meeting Albert but not without a couple of history lessons and how it affects those below stairs.
Season 1, Episode 11 – Craig enlists the help of Zorn to teach him how to be a man while Alan must make a difficult decision about his Zephyrian attributes. Tonight’s episode had a weaker structure than I’m used to, but still brought the funny lines and ultimately got the job done.
Season 3, Episode 9 – The Affair hands us a surefire psychological and emotional thriller. Noah (Dominic West) needs to be committed, and so does Helen (Maura Tierney). These two are on a fast track to having their kids in therapy for life.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Emerald City is still foreign to me. Meaning, I still don’t understand what’s going on. But the end of Friday’s episode surprises me with a metaphor that makes me intrigued to see what happens.
Season 2, Episode 11 – Crazy Ex-Girlfriend uses its musical numbers as an integral part of the show’s magical structure when Rebecca asks “Josh is the Man of My Dreams, Right?” The Santa Ana winds make everyone act a little crazy, giving the characters plenty of opportunity for realizations, development, and some resolutions.
Season 1, Episodes 8-10 – Marius, a street smart con-man finds out he’s wanted by Vince, a gangster he still owes money to three years after a botched con. Taking his cell mate’s identity of Pete Bernhardt, he goes to Pete’s home in Bridgeport Connecticut to hide while he plots to find the money to pay back Vince.
Season 1, Episode 12-13 – Season one of The Good Place ends on a massive twist, leaving everyone praying for a second season.
