Season 1, Episode 5 – Victoriafinds that marriage is hard for Albert to adjust to even as he seems to feel more pressure to have kids than she does.
Season 1, Episode 9 – Lenny suffers another personal loss as his father figure and mentor Cardinal Spencer succumbs to his illness on The Young Pope. In New York, Gutierrez has trouble getting any of the abused to come forward and press charges against Kurtwell. In an attempt to embarrass Lenny, Kurtwell releases information to the press, but it backfires and works in Lenny’s favor.
Season 2, Episode 1 – Julien Baptiste is pulled out of retirement in the second season of The Missing, when clues about a former unsolved case of a missing girl come to light. Alice Webster disappears in Eckhausen Germany in 2003 and eleven years later comes walking back into town. What happened to her, and where has she been?
Season 1, Episode 7 – Emerald City may actually be a good show. It took 7 episodes, but I’m into it. Lucas remembers who he is, thanks to Glinda, and The Wizard reminds me of someone who was just inaugurated.
Season 1, Episode 15 – The team is briefed on a murder case and is tasked with tracking down an infamous serial killer before he strikes again. But they aren’t sure if they’re dealing with the real killer or a copycat killer.
Season 1, Episode 3 – Riverdale‘s third episode is its best to date, highlighting the best characters (the women) while giving into its cheesy nature.
Season 2, Episode 14 – On Valentine’s Day, Amy and Glenn try to set up Myrtle with a seemingly perfect match, while Jonah goes undercover for Dina in hopes of catching a repeat shoplifter.
Season 2, Episode 4 – The slow pace of Season 2 of Baskets continues, as we find Christine and Chip waiting out the latter’s sentencing by visiting the museum honoring our 40th president. Christine finds friendship while Chip seeks closure in this sweet, poignant episode.
Season 1, Episode 2 – Episode two of Training Day is a step in the right direction, but hasn’t eliminated its cliche cop show problem, and all but ignores one of the two principal characters.
Season 1, Episode 2 – NBC’s second episode of Powerless doesn’t bring the superlaughs or take advantage of the DC Universe it exists in.
Season 1, Episode 4 – This week’s Six entitled “Man Down” leaves us for most of the episode wondering which man that will be. Turns out it’s many, but maybe not who you think.
Season 4, Episode 2 – This week’s The 100 finds leadership being questioned as everyone faces tough choices in order to save themselves for the oncoming nuclear storm.
Season 5, Episode 12 – On this week’s Arrow, Oliver, Diggle and the rest of Team Arrow fly to Russia and race against the clock to prevent General Walker from selling a nuclear weapon to terrorists.
Season 1, Episode 14 –Dr. Cahill experiences life from inside a Riggs investigation when the Lethal Weapon team investigates the murder of Cahill’s new boyfriend. It’s all about secrets when Riggs finds out Murtaugh was also her patient. Murtaugh also investigates a much more explosive case when he discovers his daughter sneaking out at night.
Season 1, Episode 1 – “Chapter 1” of Legion showcases its beautiful style, unconventional narrative structure, and superpowers to full effect. With a story that functions equally well on its own terms and as a launching point for the rest of the series, the episode is a cinematic masterpiece.
Season 2, Episode 3 – The Expanse experiences “Static,” giving every character a chance to process their various actions and inactions while the plot moves on around them. With the usual mixture of politics, consequence, and exploration of identity, the episode provides clues to bigger puzzles even while everyone stays put.
Season 2, Episode 3 – Martin’s curse on the thrones of Fillory kicks in and soon Alice, Eliot, Margo, and Quentin are at each other’s throats on The Magicians. Penny is the only person who can stop them from killing each other, but his hands start acting up. Julia and Martin confront Raynard, but Penny interrupts and soon Martin is fighting for his life in Fillory.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Star delivers it’s worst episode yet, believing itself to be equipped to talk about BLM. The problem with this show is that it doesn’t allow itself to ever address the original conceit and it often takes on topics that are not in its tone. This is not a show about a girl group. This is a show about nothing with singing. Star should apologize to Black Lives Matter for this one.
Season 3, Episode 14 – Black-ish returns with an episode that hits all the rights notes, managing to be silly, sweet, and serious all at the same time. Bow and Dre argue over what to name their upcoming child, while Junior puts the moves on Zoey’s friend Shelly.
Season 4, Episode 13 – It’s Valentine’s Day, which is thankfully the catalyst it took to finally shake Erica, pining over Geoff, out of her season-long depression. Adam deals with his own relationship problems, as he fears he’s losing his best friend Chad.
Season 1, Episode 14 – After a couple weeks off, Speechless comes back with an cute but ineffective episode about Valentine’s Day that tries to pack in too much. J.J. eats too much candy, Ray gets his heart broken, and Maya and Jimmy attempt to re-heat their marriage.
Season 3, Episode 12 – A new metahuman wreaks havoc on Central City this week on The Flash. Team Flash must find a way to fight a meta who they can’t touch all while Barry still trains Wally in everything he knows to beat Savitar.
Season 2, Episode 3 – Big Foster’s re-entry has many twists and turns as does Little Foster’s approach to life in a Lostie jail cell. Wade continues to struggle against the odds, with some success this time. Sally-Ann and G’win both struggle with an important decision, and both come into meaningful contact with Morgan and her tribeswomen.
Bravo may be trying to break new ground from its usual reality TV fare with Imposters — a sexy black comedy that follows the exploits of a seductive con woman — but sadly, it’s hardly a groundbreaking series.
Season 2, Episode 11 – This week on Legends of Tomorrow we travel back to Christmas 1776, where Rip Hunter has (literally) lost his damn mind, forcing our Legends to go toe to toe with their old friend.
Season 1, Episode 5 – James has set the Crown and the East India Company at each other’s throats after his raid to steal saltpeter on Taboo. Thorne and James have a duel with an interesting outcome, and Thorne takes his anger out on Zilpha. With Delaney pitting all sides against one another will he be able to escape unscathed?
Season 1, Episode 8 – The Mick is finally figuring out a way to do funny, even as Mickey continues to have different viewpoints on life than her young charges.
Season 3, Episode 12 – Connie comes to visit in the aptly named “Sister Without Subtext” this week on Fresh Off the Boat. When Jessica hears that Connie is returning to college, it may not be what it seems. Marvin takes the Huang boys and Honey on a surprise trip that puts Honey in an awkward position.
Season 1, Episode 14 – It was never a great writing choice to end every episode on an expectations-shifting cliffhanger of a plot twist, but at least there was something to look forward to during that time. Now, every episode is starting to feel a little sluggish.
