Season 1, Episode 6 – Atlanta changes tacks for “Value,” the sixth episode of its inaugural season. Earn’s occasional girlfriend (and the constant mother of his child) Vanessa combats feelings of inadequacy with a seemingly innocuous irresponsible decision. But how innocuous will it actually prove to be?
Season 1, Episode 5 – Al lets his emotions get the best of him in a celebrity basketball game, Earn networks, and Darius accidentally stirs up trouble at a shooting range. Oh, and Justin Bieber is black.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Earn’s money woes continue, while Al struggles with a YouTube troll. Yawning ensues. With “The Streisand Effect,” the fourth episode of its inaugural season, Atlanta has just hit what we can only hope is its nadir.
FX isn’t wasting any time with two of their breakout comedies. The network has renewed Atlanta and Better Things for a second season. The double order of renewals has the two shows returning for 10 episodes.
Season 1, Episode 3 – In this week’s episode of “Atlanta,” Earn’s money struggles continue, in lock-step with his Vanessa struggles.
Season 1, Episodes 1-2 – In the debut episodes of Donald Glover’s low-key homegrown dramedy Atlanta, self-acknowledged loser Earn Marks tries to convince his up-and-coming scene rapper cousin, Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, to let Earn manage him.
Two cousins, with different views on art versus commerce, on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene; “Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,” an ambitious college drop-out and his estranged cousin, who suddenly becomes a star.
The yet-to-be-titled season of Ryan Murphy’s horrific anthology will take a bow at the mid-September, while new comedies Atlanta starring Community alum Donald Glover and Louis C.K.’s Better Things will make their big premiere.
