Shades Of Blue loads all its pieces into The Breach in this week’s incredible episode. The whole season has been leading towards this week’s heist. It doesn’t go down quite as action-combaty as the heist in you would expect, but it does stitch together a number of suspenseful elements a deliver a great piece of drama.
Murder is “What Devil Do” on this week’s SHADES OF BLUE but nothing is ever as simple as it seems. This episode also gives us another piece of the big score and its baddie maestro, Linklater, a DEA agent played by Stephan Lang.
Santos uses her “Live Wire Act” to expose Woz’s Shades Of Blue as the team moves past the loss of Saperstein. Everyone deals loss differently, but the man that killed Saperstein takes it the hardest.
“Good Cop, Bad Cop” feels like the kind of episode Shades Of Blue is all about: the difficulties of imperfect people making tough choices about keeping the peace in an environment where justice rarely exists.
I’m no detective but I’m pretty sure Woz just gave FBI Agent Stahl the direct evidence that he took part in the murder. If this is so, they don’t need Santos to inform anymore which would change her role completely.
Shades Of Blue kicks it up a notch with the Fall of Man. This is episode is all about secrets and revelations and the pressures those things add to relationships. We’ve seen some of Woz’s secrets play out. This week centers on the havoc created by skeletons Santos’s closet.
Shades Of Blue explores the cause and effect of crime and punishment in Equal and Opposite, Newton’s third law of motion. In TV drama, a cause must have a powerfully unequal response. Dramatic laws are much closer to life; completely unfair.
Shades Of Blue digs deeper into Loman’s heart as the man is torn between the colors he represents in “Who Can Tell Me Who I Am” Santos wakes after an intimate evening with AFA Nava. So far, he and Cristina seem to be the most innocent characters of the show.
Shades Of Blue peels back some Woz layers in False Face, False Heart, and the FBI puts pressure on Santos and Stahl to deliver actionable evidence against Woz immediately. It turns out; Woz had a daughter of his own.
