The BAFTA Awards — which are essentially the across-the-pond-Oscars — were handed out this weekend and, to no surprise, Damien Chazelle’s musical La La Land cleaned up by picking up five trophies including Best Film, Best Actress, and Best Director.

Garfield is in talks to star as the title character, while Gibson is in talks to helm the war drama.

Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance. But he was no coward. Doss saved 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa, without firing a shot.
