Season 1, Episodes 9-13 – Just like its main character, Iron Fist ultimately fails to find its purpose. The series props itself up with pieces from previous Marvel Netflix shows and never tells a coherent story of its own. A few characters are enough to save the show from complete disaster by providing interesting growth as a counterpoint to Danny’s aimlessness.

Season 2, Episode 10 – Baskets closes its outstanding second season with an episode that felt a little more like a short film than the typical half-hour. And a lot happens as the family determines its future.

Season 2, Episode 3 – On this week’s Underground, Rosalee continues to be on the run alone, struggling to survive. Ernestine, meanwhile, is still haunted by her past.

Season 1, Episode 13 – In the fallout from last week’s shocking events, a rogue journalist reveals classified information, sending the White House into damage control. While, the investigation into MacLeish continues to reveal new surprising information.

Season 5, Episode 17 – On this week’s Arrow, Oliver tries to resist being broken by Prometheus. In the Russian flashbacks, while Oliver and Anatoly try to stop Kolvar, Anatoly becomes increasingly unnerved by Oliver’s ruthless tactics.

Season 1, Episode 1 – Created by Gina Prince-Bythewood who also directed the first episode and Reggie Rock Bythewood, the series opens with the shooting death of a white teenager by an African American police officer Joshua Beck in North Carolina.

Season 4, Episode 7 – Guit sets in as our characters reach a moral impasse on The 100 this week. As black rain hammers down on Arkadia, Abby must chooose whether to take a life in order to save many more.

Season 2, Episode 9 – The Expanse is full of science, spies, and political briefings in “The Weeping Somnambulist.” The Rocinante crew takes a back seat to Bobbie and Chrisjen investigating the battle on Ganymede station. The episode deftly connects all the disparate plotlines while giving everyone equal time to move their stories forward.

Season 1, Episode 7 – Legion finally escapes its narrative loop in “Chapter 7” but still doesn’t follow through on the story it started telling. With just one episode left in the season, the series can’t seem to choose between cohesive plot and auteur stylistics.

Season 3, Episode 10 – Empire is back after it’s midseason hiatus and it’s ready to continue right where it left off. It’s hard to see how any reconciliation between the two groups will go down, especially after Cookie brings the fight to Lucious in a way we have yet to see.

Season 2, Episode 9 – The Magicians takes the show into uncharted territory this week as it features a fun musical section leading into a battle. Quentin is dying because Alice’s Niffin is trapped inside of him. Can he get it out before it’s too late? Penny and Kady find Raynard’s son, but will he help them before Raynard can get to him?

Season 2, Episode 15 – This week Legends of Tomorrow will have you shook. Not only are the Legends tasked with reclaiming the Spear, but figuring out how to destroy it – a mission of biblical proportions… literally. Don’t look away, because just when you think our team has it together, they’re pulled apart by an old friend.

Season 2, Episode 10 – Eddie and Sarah try to reverse past sins this episode, as Sarah harbors guilt over the poisoned water situation and Eddie’s plan to abolish the denier policy goes awry. Meanwhile, Hawk and Ashley, the best couple this show has, reunite.

Season 1, Episodes 3-4 – With its two latest episodes Trial & Error has proven it wasn’t a fluke: this show is clever, very funny, and hopefully here to stay.

Season 1, Episode 7 – Imposters follows up last week’s shocker of an episode not with a bang, but with a whimper. A detour to Ezra’s home life slows things down monumentally, while the reveal of Patrick’s FBI status sadly adds no real tension to his and Maddie’s relationship.

Season 5, Episode 3 – The Americans break into a secret Oklahoma lab, building their case of a United States sponsored grain-terror plot to starve the Russian people. Oleg investigates food shortages in Moscow and receives an extortion tape form the CIA. Paige uses her new emotional control trick while out on a date with Matthew and Mischa works his way through the Iron Curtain.

Season 1, Episodes 5-7 – These episodes basically move briskly forward in the same way as the first three episodes. The charming characters pass the idiot ball around to make sure that Al is always on the back foot, only now Vic is out of prison and Fink is really onto them, throwing a little extra trouble into the mix.

Season 1, Episode 12 – The Mick is back and Mickey is back to teaching the kids lessons that are both valuable and convoluted.

Season 3, Episode 17 – It’s here guys! The much anticipated musical crossover finally arrives on this week’s The Flash! It’s sing or die as Barry and Kara find themselves trapped in 1930s gangster musical. Strap on your tap shoes and prepare to belt out show tunes as some familiar faces return in this special episode.

Season 1, Episodes 5-8 – The second third of Iron Fist picks up a bit with the welcome inclusion of Claire Temple and the development of a few character arcs. Unfortunately, the series still lacks a coherent narrative even more than halfway through the season’s run. Iron Fist is watchable but too messy to be truly great.

Season 2, Episode 9 – An episode with many questions – what is G’winn’s future? Who poisoned the crops? Who is the little boy who shows up outside Wade and Ledda’s place? And can Haylie be convinced (or coerced) to change sides?

Season 5, Episode 13 – In the show’s penultimate episode of the season, we get a revelation that may end Ben and Mindy’s relationship. Also, Mindy’s best friend from grade school Elena (guest star Casey Wilson) visits, prompting her to reassess her relationship with Morgan.

Season 1, Episode 4 – Taken takes it up a notch with an episode reminiscent of the movie franchise plot, but it’s still just a watered down version of the beloved films.

Season 5, Episode 5 – First thing’s first – Rihanna! Bates Motel introduces us to another side of Rihanna – her acting chops. I’ve been looking forward to this episode, and it didn’t disappoint. In other news, Norman can’t find Norma anywhere. But again, Rihanna!

Season 2, Episode 6 – Monday night’s episode of Humans incites several questions: 1. as humans, when we do know our purpose?; 2. As newly awakened synths, when will they know theirs?; 3. Why do we assume that every synth is mentally stable (see: Hester)?; and 4. Why did I think Dr. Athena’s lover was her daughter?

Season 2, Episode 16 – In this week’s Supergirl, Mon-El’s parents arrive on Earth, ready to take their royal son back home. Kara is shocked and hurt by Mon-El’s true identity. Meanwhile, Winn’s relationship with Lyra also hits a major speed bump. Later, Music Meister appears, setting up a crossover event with The Flash.

Season 1, Episode 8 – Franco gets injured on the job, but can’t afford to see a doctor. There’s some funny moments, but the show’s reliance on low-brow humor and insistence on going for the most obvious joke possible makes it a very disposable half-hour.

Season 1, Episode 8 – 24: Legacy reaches new plausibility lows, as Issac and Nicole try to figure out a way to save Eric and Andy from Jadalla while fending off some henchmen themselves. Meanwhile, Eric makes a grave discovery while in Jadalla’s custody as he tries to buy as much time as possible to stop the remaining sleeper cells from being revealed.

Season 1, Episode 7 – The latest APB is exactly what you expect from an episode of this show, except for the addition of a new character to spice up Gideon’s love life.

Season 2, Episode 14 – A solid return for Quantico as the story picks up in a single timeline but sets up continued twists and turns for the second half of season two.
